Set within the historic context of Clusone, Studio Del Bello is characterized by a distinctive architectural identity in which traditional materials and contemporary design coexist in a carefully balanced composition. The lighting design was developed to enhance this dialogue, supporting both the functional requirements of a professional workspace and the expressive qualities of the interior architecture.
The project is defined by a rich material palette, where timber ceilings, natural stone surfaces, and contemporary furnishings contribute to a highly tactile and atmospheric environment. Within this context, light was conceived as an architectural tool capable of revealing textures, emphasizing spatial depth, and reinforcing the character of the space without disrupting its visual harmony.
A layered lighting strategy combines ambient, task, and accent illumination to create a flexible and visually comfortable environment. General lighting establishes consistent illumination levels throughout the office, supporting everyday activities while maintaining a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Particular attention was dedicated to work areas, where carefully controlled lighting conditions contribute to visual comfort, concentration, and operational efficiency.
Architectural lighting elements were integrated to define circulation routes and strengthen spatial continuity, creating a clear visual structure across the different environments. Accent lighting was used selectively to highlight material details, architectural features, and decorative elements, enhancing the perception of depth and enriching the overall spatial experience.
The quality of light played a central role throughout the project. High-performance lighting solutions were specified to ensure excellent colour rendering, balanced luminance levels, and a comfortable visual environment suitable for both focused work and client-facing activities.
The result is a workspace where lighting and architecture operate as a unified system, enhancing the identity of the interior while supporting functionality and wellbeing. Through precision, restraint, and careful integration, the lighting design contributes to an environment that is both professional and characterful, reflecting the unique qualities of the studio and its historic setting.
